Judge Michael Bagneris has endorsed LaToya to be the next mayor of New Orleans. Bagneris, a former judge and a respected public servant, ran a solid mayoral campaign focused on the issues and told a reporter when announced his endorsement, “It wasn’t really a hard choice.” Judge Bagneris came in third in the general election for mayor.
LaToya was happy to receive Bagneris’s endorsement, especially since he took the time to do it during such a difficult time for his family. On Saturday, October 14, the judge’s daughter Mia Bagneris was struck by a drunk driver and has undergone numerous surgeries to recover from her injuries. A go-fund me account has been set up for her hospital and rehabilitation costs.
“He ran a strong campaign and is one of most respected public servants in our city,” said LaToya. “I’m very grateful to receive his endorsement, and for me, this shows the inclusiveness that my campaign continues to build and that will be my approach as mayor. I continue to pray for Mia’s recovery.”
