New Orleans—Time is of the essence when it comes to disaster recovery, and the New Orleans District B Council Office, Broadmoor Improvement Association and VAYLA are collecting needed items in Broadmoor, transporting the supplies to VAYLA’s headquarters, where those who need supplies can pick them up.
LaToya has been meeting with those temporarily housed at the Joe W. Brown Recreation Center.
“We all have been affected by disasters, and we know that it’s critical to get supplies delivered to people as soon as possible,” LaToya says. “My first question is always, ‘What do you need,’ and people have quickly responded. I know that people want to help so here’s an opportunity.”
For those that want to donate, but are unable to drop goods, you can make a monetary donation to rebuilding and construction needs through VAYLA’s go fund me site.
